Hot Topics in the Aerospace Industry: Internationalisation, Digitalisation, and Increased Flexibility
Internationalisation, digitalisation, and increased flexibility – topics that stir the supply chain management are highlighted at expoAIR, the new international trade fair for the
aerospace supply industry. From 20th to 22nd November 2017, visitors are invited to experience exclusive exhibitions, road shows, and even B2B-Matchmaking at the Messe München. expoAir is
supported by the Bavarian aerospace association bavAIRia e.V. and the Bavarian Ministry for Trade and Commerce.
A New International Platform for Production and Development
Besides the well-known OEMS as well as aerospace system suppliers, it is particularly the small and medium-sized businesses that contribute invaluable services to the national and international aerospace industry. These companies are renowned worldwide as reliable and trustworthy partners. Due to their efficiency and quality in production some of them even have, despite their comparatively small size, become world market leaders in their niche sector.
Johann Heitzmann, the spokesman and chairman of bavAIRia e.V. emphasises: “The enormous demand for new products and services in the civil aviation sector has steadily increased in the past year. At first glance that is fantastic news. However, we do worry how the majority, that is small and medium-sized companies, can position themselves against system manufacturers.” In this regard, expoAIR offers all participants a strong platform to discuss this and other current issues.
Christoph Hauck, CEO of MBFZ toolcraft GmbH, expects a top-class event and successful talks regarding new and trend-setting material and production technologies for the aerospace industry. “International cooperation plays a major role for us. At expoAIR, we specifically look for new collaborations to complement our established partnerships in the aerospace industry. Furthermore, we look forward to presenting ourselves as qualified suppliers for innovative technologies, as for instance metal laser melting.”
expoAIR, the new international trade fair for the aerospace supply industry, offers a platform for expertise knowledge and professional contacts at the highest stage. This includes state-of-the-art technology, such as Additive Layer Manufacturing (ALM) and laser melting. Due to increased flexibility in production, new technologies are gradually becoming a more advantageous alternative for client.
New Challenges for the Small and Medium-Sized Supply Industry
Furthermore, expoAIR focuses on the growing digitalisation of the sector. Industry 4.0 is seen as a major challenge of the aerospace industry. As a consequence, the supply industry faces increasing pressure to adapt to these trends. Therefore, new technologies and realistic solutions are needed to support small and medium-sized companies. expoAIR spotlights these new challenges with the help of industry experts and the cooperation of various interest groups.
In addition, central subjects include electromobility and autonomous flying. The visitor is invited to participate in exciting discussions and lectures surrounding UAVs and their possibilities for the aerospace industry. Moreover, in cooperation with the Munich Startup Portal, expoAIR offers a start-up area to exchange ideas between start-ups and the aerospace industry, as well as related sectors. New start-ups are welcomed to present their ideas on the topic “future technologies”.
Success with the One-to-One Business Meetings
Special to expoAIR are the one-to-one business meetings, the so-called B2B-Matchmaking. Exhibitors and buyers – OEMS and suppliers – have the opportunity to talk about specific requirements and problems. expoAIR prepares, organises and professionally accompanies these meetings. Exhibitors and buyers can book B2B-Matchmaking in advance for the best possible outcome.
expoAIR invites industry experts and exhibitors to apply as speakers and participants. Requirements, registration details, and dates can be found under www.expoAIR.de
Organiser and Venue
expoSTAGE GmbH is the official organiser of expoAIR. The company was founded in January 2017 by Thomas Eisenberg in order to facilitate the organisation and execution of trade fairs in the aerospace supply industry. Located just outside of Munich in the aviation hub Bavaria, expoSTAGE GmbH is the ideal event partner for system manufacturers, engineering service providers, research institutions, and suppliers of the aerospace industry.
The infrastructure and functionality of Messe München provide the perfect environment for a stimulating and successful trade fair. The state-of-the-art halls at ground level offer spacious exhibition areas with abundant day light. All halls are continuously traversable thanks to the pillar-free architecture with high ceilings. Exhibitors profit from generous delivery zones, which create optimal conditions for a flexible and smooth installation and dismantling.
